Illinois Student Assistance Commission must annually include information about the Child Care Assistance Program and federal dependent care allowance in communications to students eligible for Monetary Award Program grants.

Required information shall include program eligibility details, application instructions, and direct students to the Department of Human Services for Child Care Assistance Program information and to financial aid offices for federal dependent care allowance information.

Participating higher education institutions must provide this notice to all Monetary Award Program-eligible students who are enrolled or accepted for enrollment, and to any students identified as having dependents.

Institutions may designate a public benefits liaison or single point person to help eligible students obtain public benefits and may provide additional information about available benefits and community resources.

Illinois Student Assistance Commission must adopt implementing rules by October 1, 2020, with the act taking effect immediately upon becoming law.
