IL SB3827

Requires all documentation relating to expense accounts of municipal officers and their direct reports to be submitted to and retained by the municipality.

Makes expense account documentation subject to municipal audits and disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act in the same manner as other municipal expenses.

Prohibits home rule municipalities from regulating expense accounts in a manner inconsistent with these requirements.

Designates this provision as a limitation on home rule powers under Article VII, Section 6(i) of the Illinois Constitution.
