IL SB3839

Amends the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Act to require the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority to analyze criminal justice data on crimes involving firearm use by convicted felons over the 5 years prior to the effective date.

Authority must track crimes involving firearm use and the sentences imposed in relation to those criminal acts committed by convicted felons.

Authority shall report to the General Assembly by January 1, 2022 with the number of arrested individuals for firearm crimes who were convicted felons and the disposition of those cases.

This provision is repealed July 1, 2022.
