IL SB3843

Amends the P-20 Longitudinal Education Data System Act to expand the definition of "institution of higher learning" to include nonpublic institutions approved or authorized by the Board of Higher Education under the Private Business and Vocational Schools Act, Private College Act, or Academic Degree Act.

Authorizes the Board of Higher Education to collect and maintain data from any nonpublic institution of higher learning enrolling students in Illinois and disclose this data to the longitudinal data system.

Removes provisions allowing the Board of Higher Education to contract with voluntary consortiums of nonpublic institutions for data sharing, research, and analysis.

Eliminates authority for the Board to seek and make available grant funding to consortiums including nonpublic institutions to develop data collection systems.

Requires the Board of Higher Education to engage in cooperative planning with institutions of higher learning and statewide higher education associations regarding data collection activities.
