Illinois Senate pledges to become a racially, ethnically, and inclusive entity that applies a racial, ethnic, and inclusion (REI) lens to all policies, programs, employment practices, professional development, and operations

State commits to working with diverse organizations and individuals affected by historical and current discriminatory policies to explore alternatives that reduce inequities

Advocates for the use of disaggregated data to illustrate systemic discriminatory practices, existing disparities for Illinois children and families, and progress in eliminating those disparities

Pledges to implement evaluation measures to ensure incorporation of the REI lens across state activities

A copy of the resolution is to be presented to Voices for Illinois Children, the organization that originally adopted these principles and urged other entities to follow
