Suzzanna M. Hubert of Champaign passed away on May 10, 2020; she was born January 16, 1983 in Urbana to Blake and Nancy A. (Ewing) Hubert.

Enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 2010 as a fire control-radar and missiles specialist (FC); achieved the rank of petty officer first class and qualified for chief petty officer in 2020.

Served on USS Anchorage and participated in retrieving the test launch of space capsule Orion EFT-1; deployed to Middle East with stops in Thailand, Israel, Jordan, and Petra.

Earned a bachelor's degree in history and worked as a master training specialist at Great Lakes Naval Base; planned to teach history at the college level after Navy retirement.

Survived by parents, sisters Jennifer M. Roland and Lauren P. Hubert, brother-in-law Stephen Roland, nephews Ethan and Owen, eight aunts and uncles, and nine cousins.
