Joseph "Joe" B. Burns of Rock Island passed away on June 10, 2020; he was born March 18, 1941 in Moline to Harold and Irene DeJaeger Burns.

Graduated from Alleman High School, joined the U.S. Navy in 1961, and married Sharon McMurray on July 12, 1969.

Worked 18 and a half years at John Deere Harvester and retired in 2009 as co-owner and operator of the 14th Avenue Waffle Shop in Rock Island.

Member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and the Garabandal movement; built a replica of Noah's Ark in the 1970s.

Illinois Senate extends condolences to his surviving wife Sharon, five children, grandchildren, siblings, and extended family.
