Stanley "Stan" Turk of Joliet passed away on April 19, 2020, and the Illinois Senate expresses condolences to his family and friends.

Born March 17, 1926, in Rockdale to Frank and Anna Turk; graduated from Joliet Catholic High School in 1944 and served honorably in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific theater until 1946.

Worked for the U.S. Postal Service for more than 40 years, including sorting mail on trains and at the Main Post Office in Chicago before transferring to the Joliet Post Office in 1968 until his retirement in 1983.

Active member of service organizations including the Elks, Moose, Will County Old Timers' Baseball Association, and Joliet Park Foundation; served as an usher at the Cathedral of Saint Raymond and was a regular blood donor.

Survived by his sons Mike and Pat, granddaughters Katie and Maggie, and numerous extended family members; preceded in death by his wife Agnes and seven brothers.
