Former Illinois State Senator Lawrence M. "Larry" Walsh Sr. passed away on June 3, 2020.

Served as Illinois State Senator representing the 43rd District from April 1997 to January 2005, and as Will County Executive from 2004 until his death.

Earlier public service included membership on the Elwood School Board (1970), Jackson Township Supervisor (1973-2004), and Will County Board (1974, 1992).

Advocated for disability issues, senior services, preservation, and agricultural concerns throughout his career in public service.

Illinois Senate extends condolences to his surviving wife Irene, six children, 20 grandchildren, and extended family.
