Frank Harris Jr. of Waukegan passed away on April 15, 2020, at age 90.

Served as Alderman of the 5th Ward for the City of Waukegan for 12 years and as NAACP president in Lake County from the mid to late 1960s.

Advocated for voter education, registration, and fair housing; helped integrate Waukegan's neighborhoods and public schools.

Worked at U.S. Steel, Prudential Insurance Company, Lake County Sheriff's Office, Mac Realty, and Key Realty; served in U.S. Army in Germany from 1950 to 1953.

Illinois Senate extends condolences to his surviving wife Kate M. Harris of 66 years, three children, sister, and five grandchildren.
