Illinois Senate mourns the death of John Charles Schmitt of Algonquin, who passed away on July 25, 2020

Schmitt served in the United States Navy from 1967 to 1971 and worked for AT&T for over 40 years

Served as Algonquin Village Trustee from 1993 to 2003 and as Village President from 2003 until his death

Survived by his wife Cheryl, two daughters, five grandchildren, and his brother Thomas

Senate extends condolences to Schmitt's family and directs presentation of a memorial copy of this resolution to his family
