Ronald "Ron" John Kalinoski of North Chicago died on July 27, 2020, and the Illinois Senate expresses condolences to his family and loved ones.

Kalinoski served in the U.S. Army from 1964, was deployed to Vietnam, sustained lifelong injuries from a land mine explosion, and was awarded the Purple Heart.

After military service, Kalinoski worked as a paid volunteer firefighter for the North Chicago Fire Department and then worked over 40 years at the North Chicago Water Plant and Great Lakes Water Plant before retiring.

Kalinoski was known for his faith, love of outdoor activities including fishing and boating, private pilot's license, and devotion to his family and the North Chicago community.

Kalinoski is survived by three daughters, one brother, two sisters, three grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
