Judy D. June of Joliet passed away on July 24, 2020, and the Illinois Senate expresses its condolences to her family.

Born February 22, 1943, in East St. Louis to Thomas Clifford and Wanda Lee (Biggers) Tyson; graduated from Cahokia High School in 1960 and nursing school at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in 1964.

Nursing career included positions at Centerville Hospital, team nurse for the St. Louis Cardinals minor league Springfield Redbirds, pediatric physician's assistant, chief nurse of the Illinois Department of Public Health Bureau of Nursing Home Enforcement, and administrator of Deerbrook Care Center.

Active member of First Presbyterian Church choir, The Holly Club of Joliet, and Joliet Area Community Hospice; avid gardener whose garden was featured in the 2016 Hospice Garden Walk.

Survived by her husband Ford C. "Chet" June III (married 30 years), two sisters, extended family members, and multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
