Richard J. "Rich" Ivnik of Springfield passed away on March 9, 2020; he was born January 16, 1927, in Joliet to Michael Ivnik and Julia Konopek.

Served in the U.S. Army during World War II and worked as a systems analyst programmer for Caterpillar for 33 years before retiring in 1983.

Married Lucille "CeleAnn" McCarthy on June 21, 1947, and was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Knights of Columbus Council 364, and Christ the King Parish.

Survived by his wife of over 72 years, two daughters (Barbara J. Lyons and Mary Jo Hendricksen), a daughter-in-law, seven grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

Illinois Senate extends condolences to the Ivnik family and will present a suitable copy of the resolution to them as an expression of sympathy.
