John M. Schwarberg of Springfield died on September 12, 2020; he was born July 20, 1932, to John and Josephine Schwarberg and was a lifelong Springfield resident.

Served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and earned a master's degree from the University of Illinois at Springfield.

Worked as an auditor and accountant for the State of Illinois for nearly 30 years and was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Married Rita Cartwright on January 10, 1953; she preceded him in death on December 8, 1982; survived by son John E. Schwarberg, brother Chris Schwarberg, and extended family.

Illinois Senate expresses condolences to his family and directs that a copy of this resolution be presented to the Schwarberg family.
