Illinois Senate mourns the death of Robert A. "Bob" Loy of Bloomington, who passed away on October 29, 2020.

Bob Loy was born April 5, 1955; graduated from Bloomington High School in 1973 and Illinois State University in 1977 as an All-American swimmer; married Shelley Hanson on July 27, 1996.

Served as a teacher and head swim coach at Bloomington High School beginning in 1979 and instructed at local clubs and pools for over 40 years, earning State Coach of the Year honors.

Survived by his wife Shelley, seven children, twelve grandchildren, two brothers, and his mother-in-law.

Senate extends condolences to Bob Loy's family and directs that a suitable copy of the resolution be presented to his family.
