Illinois Senate expresses condolences on the death of Karen L. Daniel, who passed away on December 26, 2019 at age 62.

Karen Daniel earned her undergraduate degree from UC Davis and law degree from Harvard Law School, moving to Chicago in 1981.

Served as co-director of the Center on Wrongful Convictions at Northwestern University School of Law, contributing to the exoneration and release of at least 20 wrongfully convicted individuals.

Named Professor Emerita of Law at Northwestern University and taught hundreds of students, inspiring many to pursue careers helping the wrongfully convicted.

A suitable copy of the resolution will be presented to her family, including her husband Alan Goldberg, son Scott Daniel Goldberg, and stepchildren.
