Illinois Senate honors Nancy Staunton, who passed away on November 24, 2019 at age 90.

Staunton earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from St. Xavier College in 1951 and a Master of Public Health from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1976.

Served as an Oak Park village trustee for six years starting in 1985, addressing issues including gun control, AIDS recognition, non-discrimination policies, and recycling.

Active in community service including the League of Women Voters, Oak Park Board of Health, hospice volunteering, and multiple organizational boards.

Senate extends condolences to her surviving six children and seven grandchildren.
