Richard Nardini passed away on June 22, 2020 at age 85 after spending most of his life in Schiller Park and graduating from East Leyden High School in 1952.

Worked at the Chicago Sun-Times for 56 years, advancing from messenger to director of classified advertising and receiving the Marshall Field Award for salesmanship in 1976.

Served as a board member of Leyden High School District 212 for 36 years, including 29 years as president, before retiring in 2005.

Volunteered at Hines Veterans Hospital and was remembered as a community leader known for honesty, fairness, compassion, and mentorship.

Survived by his wife of 63 years Mabel, three sons, two daughters, three brothers, six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
