Illinois Senate mourns the death of Myron W. Shonkwiler of Arcola, who passed away on October 10, 2020

Myron Shonkwiler was born August 31, 1938, married Kay Gamble on July 12, 1956, and worked at Whisnand Hybrids from age 17, purchasing the business with Pete Nacke in 1971 and becoming sole owner in the mid-1980s

He was a member of First Christian Church in Arcola serving as a deacon and trustee, and served on the Arcola Township Cemetery Board

Myron is survived by his wife of 64 years Kay, three children (Cindy Arthur, Scott Shonkwiler, and Rick Shonkwiler), six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and one brother Dee Shonkwiler

Senate extends sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew him, and will present a suitable copy of this resolution to his family
