Dennis "Denny" Powell of Heyworth passed away on October 29, 2020; he was born September 7, 1942, to Eleanore (Barnes) and Donald Powell in Bloomington.

Served 56 years as a fireman with Randolph Township Fire Department, including 39 years as fire chief, focusing on education, training, and development.

Farmed great-grandparents' land from the late 1950s to present and served as Randolph Township Road Commissioner, cemetery Sexton, Supervisor, and Restoration Developer.

Received McLean County Mayors Association Person of the Year award in 2013 for implementing E911 first responder capabilities in rural areas.

Illinois Senate extends sincere condolences to his surviving stepsister, five nephews, one niece, ten grandnephews, five grandnieces, three great-grandnieces, and two great-grandnephews.
