Oyedele "Oye" Olupitan of Chicago passed away on August 18, 2020, and the Illinois Senate expresses condolences to his family and loved ones.

Oye Olupitan was born February 23, 1978, to Mary E. and David D. Olupitan; he attended Young High School and Calumet High School before studying at Kennedy King College.

He worked as an entrepreneur, automotive technician, jewelry designer, visual artist, and held positions at Ford Motor Company and Amazon.

His interests included rap music, fashion, poetry, cooking, Chicago Bulls basketball, and swimming; he was known for his big personality, sarcastic humor, and infectious smile.

He is survived by his daughter Jasmine Monique Hodges, grandson Tacari Zarell Wright Jr., siblings Olumide, Taiwo, and Kehinde Olupitan, and extended family and friends.
