Illinois Senate expresses mourning for the death of Constance T. "Connie" Montgomery of Cresco, Pennsylvania (formerly of Chicago), who passed away on July 13, 2020

Montgomery was born in Savannah, Georgia; graduated from Cardinal Stritch College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and earned master's degrees from Roosevelt University and the University of Illinois

Served as teacher and administrator at DuSable High School in Chicago and later as principal of Future Commons High School in Chicago

Was a devoted member of the gospel choir at St. James Catholic Church in Chicago and served on numerous non-profit boards helping those in need

Is survived by her son David Montgomery, daughter Debra Esposito, and granddaughter Nia Esposito; a suitable copy of the resolution will be presented to her family
