Schools must provide written notification to parents or guardians when a student commits misconduct involving offensive touching, physical altercation, or violence.

Schools must provide a student's written statement about misconduct incidents to parents or guardians upon request, in compliance with federal and state student privacy laws.

Schools must make reasonable attempts to deliver disciplinary reports to parents or guardians within 2 school days after investigation completion.

Disciplinary reports must include a description of the misconduct, the disciplinary action imposed and its duration, the school's justification with reference to applicable policies, and any restorative justice measures used, with other students' identifying information redacted.

Act takes effect July 1, 2021.
