HB0039 Summary

• Removes the requirement that employees must have worked at Illinois colleges/universities for an aggregate of at least 7 years for their children to qualify for 50% undergraduate tuition waivers.

• Adds requirement that employees must be currently employed by an Illinois college or university at the time their child enrolls to be eligible for the waiver.

• Requires employees to remain employed throughout their child's enrollment or until the child has used 4 years of undergraduate partial tuition waiver benefits to maintain eligibility.

• Applies to all nine public Illinois universities: University of Illinois, Southern Illinois University, Chicago State University, Eastern Illinois University, Governors State University, Illinois State University, Northeastern Illinois University, Northern Illinois University, and Western Illinois University.
