IL HB0105

Amends the Illinois Governmental Ethics Act by adding Section 3A-35 concerning conflicts of interest for board and commission appointees.

Prohibits appointed members of state boards, commissions, authorities, and task forces, their spouses, and immediate family members living in their residence from having contracts or direct pecuniary interests in contracts related to their board during their term and for one year after.

Extends the conflict of interest prohibition to business entities where the appointee or their family collectively receive more than 15% of distributable income.

Bars spouses of General Assembly members from being appointed to any state board, commission, authority, task force, or similar body that offers compensation for service, effective upon passage of the bill.
