HB0115 - Business Data Transparency Summary

• Secretary of State shall publish annual corporation lists and daily new corporation formation lists as open data (machine-readable, freely available, no registration required) instead of providing copies to specific recipients for fees.

• Secretary of State shall publish monthly compilations of daily limited liability company and not-for-profit corporation formation lists as open data without charging fees.

• Secretary of State does not warrant completeness, accuracy, or fitness of public data sets and is not liable for deficiencies unless caused by willful or wanton action.

• State is not liable for deficiencies in third-party applications utilizing public data sets unless deficiencies result from willful or wanton action by Secretary of State or employees.

• Effective date: January 1, 2022.
