• Requires each hospital to designate a health supervisor (hospital administrator or nursing supervisor) as the sole point of contact for peace officers regarding treatment of persons in custody, prohibiting direct officer communication with nurses.

• Deletes provisions requiring DNA submission from persons charged with certain violent offenses (first-degree murder, home invasion, predatory criminal sexual assault, aggravated criminal sexual assault, criminal sexual assault) after indictment or probable cause hearing.

• Eliminates DNA submission requirements for registered sex offenders at the time of registration, removing the provision that required submission unless previously submitted.

• Removes the provision stating that detention, arrest, or conviction based on a DNA database match is valid even if the specimen was placed in the database by mistake.
