Requires every public high school to include a media literacy unit of instruction in its curriculum beginning with the 2022-2023 school year

Defines media literacy as the ability to access, analyze, evaluate, create, and communicate using print, visual, audio, interactive, and digital texts

Mandates the unit include instruction on accessing information, analyzing media messages, creating media, reflecting on media consumption, and social responsibility and civics

Directs the State Board of Education to prepare instructional resources and professional learning opportunities for educators to develop the required media literacy instruction

Takes effect upon becoming law
