School district must check the Dru Sjodin National Sex Offender Public Website, Statewide Sex Offender Database, and Statewide Murderer and Violent Offender Against Youth Database upon election or appointment of local school council members.

Individuals appearing on sex offender or violent offender databases are ineligible for election or appointment to local school councils; general superintendent must notify and remove such members subject to a hearing.

Local school council members must comply with all applicable board rules and policies regarding employees or volunteers.

Eliminates previous provisions that made individuals with specific criminal convictions permanently or temporarily ineligible for local school council membership based on conviction type and timing.
