HB0258 Summary

• Amends the Evidence-Based Funding formula for Illinois schools to require that funds received by Chicago Public Schools for low-income, English learner, and special education resources must be distributed to every school in the district in the appropriate amounts specified under the Essential Elements component.

• Requires Chicago schools to distribute Low-Income, English learner, and special education resources according to the funding amounts calculated in subparagraphs (V), (W), and (X) of the Essential Elements section of the funding formula.

• Establishes that school districts must include in their annual spending plans specific identification of how they will utilize funds for Low-Income, English learner, and special education resources across all schools in the district.

• Effective July 1, 2021.
