State Board of Education may work with school districts to inform students with developmental disabilities and their parents or guardians about the Prioritization of Urgency of Need for Services (PUNS) database maintained by the Department of Human Services.

Department of Human Services and State Board of Education shall develop an online training program for at least one designated employee in every public school to educate staff about the PUNS database and enrollment procedures.

Designated school employees must discuss enrollment in the PUNS database during annual individualized education program (IEP) meetings for all children and adolescents with suspected developmental disabilities.

State Board of Education, through school districts, shall provide parents and guardians with the Department of Human Services's "Understanding PUNS: A Guide to Prioritization for Urgency of Need for Services" guide at annual IEP review meetings.

Department of Human Services must consider the length of time spent on the PUNS waiting list as a factor when selecting individuals for developmental disabilities services.
