Amends the Illinois State Auditing Act to permit the Auditor General and authorized agents to access federal tax information in accordance with federal law and regulation regarding safeguarding of federal tax information.

Removes the requirement that only designated payroll employees of the Office of the Auditor General can receive confidential income tax records, expanding access to contractors and agents.

Adds contractors and agents of the Office of the Auditor General to those subject to the same confidentiality restrictions and penalties (Class A misdemeanor) that apply to officers and employees.

Amends the Illinois Income Tax Act to designate furnishing information to the Auditor General for official audit purposes as an official purpose within the Department, allowing tax return information to be shared with the Auditor General.

Takes effect upon becoming law.
