Deletes the immunity provision that protected local public entities and public employees from liability for failing to diagnose mental or physical illness, addiction, or failing to prescribe treatment for these conditions.

Retains immunity for local public entities and public employees who administer prescribed treatment for mental or physical illness or addiction with due care.

Preserves liability for public employees who negligently or wrongfully prescribe treatment for mental or physical illness or addiction and for local public entities employing such negligent employees.

Preserves liability for public employees and local public entities for negligent or wrongful acts or omissions in administering any prescribed treatment for mental or physical illness or addiction.

Updates gender-neutral language throughout the statute by changing "his" to "his or her" in multiple provisions.
