HB0618 Summary

• Creates the Veterans' Licensure and Workforce Task Force with 20 members to advise the Governor and General Assembly on improving policies, services, and opportunities for military service members, veterans, and their families.

• Task Force shall review how state entities and institutions of higher education accept military education, training, experience, and professional licensing; analyze portability of licenses across states; and examine costs of re-certification and license renewal.

• Task Force shall study and make recommendations on military credit acceptance, ROTC credit policies, recognition of military experience for academic credit and industry credentials, and licensing difficulties for veterans and military spouses.

• Task Force shall submit findings and recommendations report to the General Assembly and Governor by December 1, 2022, with electronic copies distributed to relevant state agencies and all public and private institutions of higher education.

• Act is repealed on December 1, 2023, and takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
