IL HB0704

Amends the Health Care Surrogate Act to expand the definition of "attending physician" and "qualified physician" to include physicians licensed in the state where the patient is being treated, not just those licensed in Illinois.

Expands the definition of "health care provider" to include providers licensed in the state where the patient is being treated, in addition to those licensed in Illinois.

Maintains existing definitions and procedures for surrogate decision-making regarding life-sustaining treatment for patients with qualifying conditions (terminal condition, permanent unconsciousness, or incurable/irreversible condition).

Takes effect upon becoming law.
