Attorney General shall appoint a State Opioid Coordinator who must be an attorney, with responsibilities including facilitating case intake for prescription opioids, heroin, and fentanyl; convening a task force of state and local law enforcement; providing legal training to Assistant Attorneys General; and maintaining prosecution statistics.

State Opioid Coordinator shall coordinate with and provide assistance to all county opioid coordinators appointed by each county state's attorney.

Each state's attorney shall appoint a county opioid coordinator who must be an attorney, with similar responsibilities as the state coordinator but focused on local law enforcement coordination and community response.

County opioid coordinators shall coordinate with the State Opioid Coordinator when necessary.

Amends the Attorney General Act and Counties Code to establish these coordinator positions and define their duties related to combating the opioid epidemic.
