IL HB0739

Adds trichomoniasis to the list of sexually transmissible diseases for which health care professionals may provide expedited partner therapy without physically examining the partner.

Allows health care professionals to prescribe, dispense, or provide prescription antibiotics to sexual partners of infected persons for chlamydia, gonorrhea, or trichomoniasis if the partner is unlikely or unable to seek comprehensive healthcare.

Limits expedited partner therapy to partners exposed within the previous 60 days and requires the infected patient to be able to contact the partner.

Requires health care professionals providing expedited partner therapy to supply patients with Department-developed written materials including antibiotic information, allergy warnings, prevention education, and notification requirements for partners.

Provides liability protections for health care professionals who provide expedited partner therapy in good faith and without compensation, except for willful and wanton misconduct.
