Amends Section 24-6 of the Illinois School Code to expand sick leave provisions for teachers and other eligible employees in school districts (excluding municipalities with 500,000+ residents)

Establishes entitlement to up to 30 days of paid sick leave for birth of a child, usable within 12 months following birth without requiring medical certification, and non-consecutive usage is permitted

Establishes entitlement to up to 30 days of paid sick leave for adoption, placement for adoption, or acceptance of a child in need of foster care, with school board ability to require evidence that formal adoption or foster care process is underway

Allows paid sick leave for adoption-related purposes to be used for reasons related to the formal adoption or foster care process prior to taking custody of the child, in addition to use after taking custody

Takes effect upon becoming law
