HB1208 Summary

• Consolidates the Self-Insurers Administration Fund into the Self-Insurers Security Fund, with the State Comptroller directing the transfer of remaining balances on the effective date of this act.

• Requires all Commissioners appointed on or after the effective date to be authorized to practice law in Illinois and maintain that authorization throughout their term of employment.

• Changes arbitrator performance reviews from annual to biennial (every other year), at the discretion of the Chairman, or more frequently if the Chairman determines necessary.

• Extends the consecutive term limit for arbitrators hearing cases in non-Cook County counties from 2 years to 4 years per 3-year term.
