IL HB1568

Allows honorably retiring law enforcement personnel (Department of Revenue investigators, Sheriff's Department employees, Illinois Gaming Board investigators, Department of Corrections security employees/parole agents, and probation officers) to purchase their service badge and/or service firearm at replacement value if they hold a valid FOID card

Requires purchased badges to be permanently marked so retirees cannot be mistaken for active law enforcement officers

Lowers the retirement age from 60 to 55 for certain Tier 2 public safety employees (State police, Secretary of State investigators, conservation police officers, Department of Revenue/Gaming Board investigators, Attorney General investigators, Commerce Commission police officers, and arson investigators) who have at least 20 years of eligible service

Directs the Illinois Law Enforcement Training Standards Board to collaborate with the Illinois Community College Board and Board of Higher Education to develop recommendations for transferring college credits toward law enforcement and correctional intern training requirements, with a report due to the General Assembly by July 1, 2023

Makes technical corrections to the Illinois Pension Code by replacing references to "this amendatory Act" with specific Public Act numbers and effective dates
