IL HB1714

Amends the Sex Offender Registration Act to include unauthorized video recording and live video transmission violations (Section 26-4 of the Criminal Code) as sex offenses requiring registration when the victim is under 18 years old.

Applies the sex offense classification when the offender was in a position of trust or authority over the victim, or when the offender was employed by a school.

Expands the definition of "sex offense" under 730 ILCS 150/2 to capture these video-related crimes involving minors that previously were not automatically classified as sex offenses.

Requires individuals convicted under these specific circumstances to register as sex offenders in Illinois.
