IL HB1802

Amends the Higher Education Student Assistance Act to modify language regarding the Illinois Student Assistance Commission membership and terms of office.

Changes pronouns from "his or her" and "his" to gender-neutral "the member's" and "the student appointee's" throughout the statute.

Clarifies that the student member's term is 2 years from July 1 of each odd-numbered year and continues until a successor is appointed and qualified.

Specifies that when a student member vacancy occurs, the new appointee holds office for the remainder of the term and until a successor is appointed and qualified.

Takes effect upon becoming law.
