IL HB1806

Converts the Licensed Medication Aide Pilot Program from a temporary 3-year program to a permanent program under the Nurse Practice Act.

Removes the limitation restricting the program to no more than 10 skilled nursing homes and eliminates the geographic distribution requirement.

Requires qualified facilities to maintain a registered nurse on-duty at all times to delegate and supervise medication administration by licensed medication aides.

Maintains requirements that facilities must be licensed skilled nursing homes with a 3+ star quality rating and must certify that medication aides will not replace existing nursing staff.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
