IL HB1831

Amends the Private Detective, Private Alarm, Private Security, Fingerprint Vendor, and Locksmith Act of 2004 to allow licensees, interested parties, and injured persons to petition for injunctive relief against unlicensed practitioners.

Permits courts to issue temporary restraining orders or preliminary injunctions without bond against individuals or entities operating without valid licenses or with suspended, revoked, or non-renewed licenses.

Authorizes courts to award reasonable attorney's fees and costs to licensees, interested parties, or injured persons who successfully obtain injunctive relief, whether by consent or otherwise.

Violations of injunctive orders issued under this section may result in contempt of court charges, in addition to all other penalties under the Act.

Takes effect upon becoming law.
