IL HB1870

Creates a new position of Law Auditor General within the Office of Auditor General, appointed by the Auditor General with approval of at least three-fifths of the Commission membership.

Assigns the Law Auditor General to audit newly enacted laws and report to the General Assembly on whether departments or entities have properly implemented those laws and fulfilled required duties.

Grants the Law Auditor General authority to perform additional actions reasonably related to or in furtherance of auditing duties.

Establishes that the Auditor General may dismiss the Law Auditor General for violations of Section 2-7 of the Illinois State Auditing Act.
