County boards may waive fees and costs for permits, inspections, and certificates of occupancy for construction, reconstruction, repair, or demolition of damaged structures by resolution following a disaster or emergency.

Township boards of trustees may waive the same fees and costs for damaged structures in their jurisdiction by resolution.

Municipal city councils may waive the same fees and costs for damaged structures within their municipalities by resolution.

"Disaster" is defined to include natural or technological causes such as fire, flood, earthquake, wind, storm, epidemic, blight, severe weather, explosion, riot, hostile military action, public health emergencies, and acts of domestic terrorism.

Local governments may also waive fees for any reason deemed warranted in the interests of public safety, welfare, and community recovery.
