IL HB1944

Amends the Illinois Aeronautics Act to expand entities eligible to disburse federal Airport and Airway Improvement Act funds through corporate authorities.

Adds airport authorities that operated 20,000 or more flight operations in any calendar year prior to 2020 to the list of entities allowed to directly disburse federal funds.

Maintains existing exemption allowing municipalities or political subdivisions with more than 500,000 inhabitants to disburse such funds directly.

Preserves existing exemption for the City of Chicago regarding O'Hare Modernization Program project applications and federal fund disbursement.
