IL HB2448

Amends the Rescue Squad Districts Act to authorize rescue squad districts to fix, charge, and collect fees for rescue squad and ambulance services.

Fees may be charged for services provided within or outside the rescue squad district boundaries.

Fee amounts are capped at the reasonable cost of providing the service.

Existing property tax authority remains unchanged, with districts able to levy up to 0.20% of property value as equalized or assessed by the Department of Revenue.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
