Expands eligibility for Vietnam Veteran license plates to include veterans who served on active duty during the Vietnam War but were not deployed to Vietnam for combat.

Plates may be issued to Illinois residents who meet eligibility requirements prescribed by the Secretary of State.

Vietnam Veteran plates are restricted to passenger vehicles of the first division, motorcycles, and motor vehicles of the second division weighing not more than 8,000 pounds.

Secretary of State has discretion over plate design, color, format, and may allow plates to be issued as vanity or personalized plates.

Plates expire according to the staggered multi-year procedure established under Section 3-414.1 of the Illinois Vehicle Code.
